Our Team in Medford, OR
In 1986, Dr. Paden joined the practice of Dr. John A. Retzlaff and Dr. John T. Weisel, who were part of the renowned ophthalmology group that developed the Sanders-Retzlaff-Kraff (SRK) formulas. These formulas are used to accurately calculate intraocular lens power for cataract surgery.
Dr. Paden was the first ophthalmologist in Oregon to offer laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), which is used to treat glaucoma. He was also the first ophthalmologist in Southern Oregon to seriously approach refractive lens procedures by acquiring the ZEISS® IOL Master®. This invaluable diagnostic tool is used before cataract surgery for optimal results.
In addition, Paden Eye Care Center is one of the first ophthalmology offices in the United States to be equipped with the Spectralis® Heidelberg Retina Angiograph and Optical Coherence Tomograph (HRA OCT) unit. This scans the retina at a rate of 40,000 per second and produces highly detailed image of it. The office also utilizes the 2RT Retinal Rejuvenation Laser for intervention and treatment of macular degeneration. This laser provides therapeutic value without thermal tissue damage. Dr. Paden also serves as a consultant for some of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies and device manufacturers, including Heidelberg® Engineering, Bio-Logic Aqua® Technologies, and Alcon® Corporation.
Every step of the way, Dr. Paden and the team at Paden Eye Care Center provides all patients with informative, highly personalized, and compassionate care they deserve.
